Communications Technology/Computer Graphics
Graphics programs enable students to explore their own creativity. This semester course is designed for students looking for opportunities to use technology creatively to produce newsletters, brochures, flyers, invitations, cards, calendars, Web pages, and other publications that integrate text and graphics in order to create computerized professional-quality business and personal communications. Emphasis will include production of effective communications using graphic design and layout to enhance the writer’s message visually in both printed and online documents.
The appearance of a document makes a strong first impression on readers, whether they are family, friends, teachers, or potential customers. This course will focus on using efficiency and good judgment in making design, typography, and graphic decisions. The software used in this course will be Microsoft Office Publisher 2003 and Photoshop.
