Week IV. Week of Sept. 26-
Quiz Beowulf and Anglo Saxon Period. Vocab Quiz--Sat Hit List Part II. Intro to
Canterbury Tales. Notes on Short Story.

Week V. Week of Oct. 3-
Outline of Med. Period. Quiz--Medieval Period. Canterbury Tales essay- Thursday.

Week VI. Week of Oct. 10- Finish Canterbury Tales essay (quotes). Chaucer quiz. Begin KP Tales.

Week VII. Week of Oct. 17-Go over Writing Test I. "Twenty-first Century Prologue and KP Tales." Quiz on prefixes, suffixes, roots.

Week VIII. Week of Oct. 24-
Everyman -- questions and essay. Notes on Drama. "Teach-in"--Agreement /Case. Vocab.: Level I-AP terms, Level II- SAT words). Read and act out Murder in the Cathedral. : Level 1: Read novel for test in two weeks; Level II: Read Lord of the Flies for test in three weeks). Begin speech.

Week IX. Week of Oct 31- Vocab.: Level I--A P Lit.terms, Drama and Fiction; Level II-- Lit terms, Fiction). Murder in the Cathedral questions and essay/ Becket. Common errors: Tense , misplaced and dangling modifiers. Finish speech.

Week X. Week of Nov. 7-
Vocab: AP Lit terms, Elements of Style, Figures of Speech. Becket film review (Oral Presentation in pairs); (Level I-- Essay on novel). Speeches.

Week XI. Week of Nov. 14. Vocab: AP Lit terms, Poetry; Common errors: fragments and faulty reference; Discuss novels read in Literature Circles. ( Level II-- Lit. Circles and essay on Lord of the Flies)

Week XII. Week of Nov. 21- Vocab.: Form, Syntax. Common errors: Punctuation, Capitalization, Co-ord. (Level I-- Essay on novel or play) Discussion. (Level II-- Discussion of Lord of the Flies).

Week XIII. Week of Nov. 28- Finish grammar presentations. Test on application of AP terms. (Level I- Alternate Assessments)(Level II -- Discussion of Lord of the Flies and debate).

Week XIV. Week of Dec. 5- Test: Grammar. Level I:Discussion on play or novel. Film and film review. Vocab.: from play or novel. Alt. Assessments-Level I I.

Week XV. Week of Dec. 12-
Intro. to Renaissance. Poetry project--"Teach-in" of assigned poets. Poetry analysis.

Week VIII - Week of Mar. 27- Outline of 18th Century. Quiz. Read one work and report in1-minute speech.

Week IX -Week of April 3- Essay on novel or play read. Outline of Romantic Age. Wordworth, Coleridge, Byron, (c.f. below).
To lead discussion, give 3 facts about the author's life, 3 facts about N.B. For the Romantic, Victorian , and Modern authors, you will be responsible for presenting and teaching one work. However, you will all be responsible for reading and doing the questions on all the poets, so as to be able to answer questions for the ones leading discussion. We will finish by discussing short stories, novels, and plays.
the author's style, and do an analysis of one work of that author's, discussing the theme, rhyme, rhythm, symbolism, etc., as we did for the Renaissance poets.Present the research in a one-paged typed paper, which could then be put on a transparency.

Week X- Week of April 10- Byron, Shelley, Keats. Outline of Victorian Age.

Week XI - Week of April 24- Essay on novel or play read.
- Victorian Poets: Tennyson, R.Browning, Arnold, E.Browning.

Week XII - Week of May 1 and 8- Modern Authors

Week XIV and Week XV- Sr. Projects and Final Exam
