- Prepare for an objective test involving identification, fill-in-the-blanks, true-false, multipple choice, and subjective essays on each book.
- To prepare for the essay, find five quotes in each book which support a thesis of your own choice. Put each quote, cited properly, on a 3x5 index card. Find one quote from a literary critic which suppports your viewpoint, cited properly, on a 3x5 index card as well.
- Using just the 3x5 cards, you will be writing essays in class.

- Be prepared for an objective test involving character and item identification, true-false, multiple choice, and an subjective test requiring essays on each book.
- To prepare for the essay test, find five quotes from each book which will show the dramatice function, or purpose, for a particular character. (For example, you may wish to show that someone is the protagonist, antagonist, catalyst, or foil.) Put each quote, cited properly, on a 3x5 card.
- Utilizing the quotes you have prepared, you will write the essays in class.
