In
the spring of 2005, a group of seniors decided the
time had come to have Ultimate Frisbee at KP. Enlisting
the aid of the local physics teacher who is up for almost anything,
they made it happen and in March of 2005, weekly Monday afternoon games
of Ultimate Frisbee commenced at King Philip. It was a cold, raw
spring and construction left them with few options other than the
small, irregular field at the end of the faculty parking lot.
Only a few kness split open, only a handful of teacher cars were
knicked by frisbees, and the barefoot players had to exhibit a
hobbit-like toughness to the rocky terrain. Nevertheless, KPUF was a
hit, running right up until late June. It even spawned several
unofficial summer leagues.
